Six Tunisian Women were awarded “Tunisian Women in Tech of The Year 2023” by RECONNECTT.
Let’s discover together the path taken by Prof. Olfa Khélia Boubaker, to reach this level in his professional career and the keys to achieving success :
“As an educator and researcher at the National Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (INSAT) of the University of Carthage,
I am passionate about catalyzing positive change in engineering to contribute to a brighter future for my country.
Born in Bardo in July 1969, I come from a lineage of distinguished Tunisian scientists. Educated in the Tunisian public school system,
I received recognition from President Habib Bourguiba at the age of 12, leading me to Bardo-Khaznadar high school.
While inherently a mathematician, I am also passionate about sports. My youth was marked not only by academic success but also by a deep commitment to team sports.
This intrinsic link between a healthy lifestyle and inner balance is at the core of my creative inspiration and scientific achievements.
My journey began with a bachelor’s degree from ENSET in Electrical Engineering in 1991. Guided by the eminent Prof. Mekki Ksouri,
I completed a master’s degree and a Ph.D. at the Laboratory of Systems Analysis and Control (LACS) of National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT) in 1995 and 2000.
In the same year, I assumed a permanent position as an Assistant Professor in Control Engineering at INSAT, maintaining an affiliation as a research visitor with the French research laboratory LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse.
From 2000 to 2007, I collaborated on sustainable development projects with outstanding professors whose contributions has profoundly influenced my journey:
Prof. Kallel Hichem in humanoid robotics, Prof. Moktar Hamdi in industrial water decontamination and environmental protection, and Prof. Rachid Dhifaoui in green energy.
I earned the Habilitation Universitaire degree in Control Engineering from the National Engineering School of Sfax in 2007 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2008.
Since 2015, I have been a Full Professor at INSAT, actively involved in research in control systems engineering and medical robotics.
My mentorship was extended to numerous theses, master dissertations, and engineer projects. Currently, my contributions include 10 books, 06 special issues,
and over 150 peer-reviewed papers, with editorial roles in prestigious publications and several international collaboration projects.
My commitment extends beyond academia to sustainable control engineering, aligning with respect for our planet and addressing global challenges,
notably supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation, and affordable and clean energy.
As part of the UNESCO Unit “The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World,” I am committed to promoting diversity
and inclusion in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), embodying a comprehensive vision for the future of these fields and beyond.”
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 !
All the best for your future career.
Continue to be a source of pride and a model of success and inspiration.
